1. You must understand you are born a sinner.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

All have sinned. We are born sinners because Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden.  That is why we lie, cheat, steal and do evil

2. You must understand that if you die without forgiveness of sin, you will go to Hell.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death;

The word wages means payment.  The payment for our sins is death.

Revelation 20:14-15 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire

Sin brings death without forgiveness of sin brings Hell.

3. You must understand that Jesus died on the cross and bought salvation for every man.

Romans 5:6 - For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

2 Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made Him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; htat we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried and was resurrected, He made a way for every person to go to Heaven.  His blood that was shed on the cross cleanses you from your sin.

Romans 6:23b - ...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Eternal life is a gift from God to man.  Eternal life is in a man called Jesus Christ.  It is not through being baptized, becoming a member of a church, or doing good works.  It is through accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.

4. You must understand that you must repent of your sins.

Luke 13:3 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish

Repent means to turn from your sins and turn to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you of those sins.  It means making up your mind to give yourself to Him 100% and follow Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible.

5. You must understand that you have to ask Jesus to save you

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

You have to ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart.  When you ask Jesus to save you, believe in your heart that He will save you.  He has promised that He would

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

You must confess with your mouth, Jesus Christ as your Savior.

You can be saved.

You can go to heaven.

You can know you are going to heaven.

If you want to be saved, Jesus said He would save you, if you are willing to turn away from your sins 100% and ask Him to forgive you and save you.

"Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner.  Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me from my sins with your blood that was shed on the cross.  I am making the decision to turn from my sins.  Come into my heart and save me.  Thank you, Jesus, for saving me."

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man plick them out of my hand.
